Faq
& Tips
When
I am writing certain mp3s to the disc, the sound like they are recorded
at 2x. What is the cause for this?
Our mp3 decoding engine will only currently decode Mp3s which have
an encoded frequency of 44.1Khz, 16Bit, and stereo. MPEG-Layer 3
is fully supported however. We do plan on adding functionality to
address this issue. This is not a bug. It is by design. Mp3's must
be high quality 44.1k for correct writing. Besides, why would you
want to record a low quality mp3 to a CD? The only exception would
be if you had an mp3 encoded at 48khz - that would make sense
What
CDR drives does this software support?
We are building a drive database for our customers. Check our web
site for frequent updates. We use a standard set of 'reference'
drives for development purposes. We have several drives of different
configurations (SCSI / Firewire / EIDE) from these different vendors:
Plextor, Yamaha, Sony, Phillips, TDK, Teac, Que!, Goldstar(LG),
HP, and Acer. Please check out the supported devices page to see
if your CD Recorder is supported.
Is
my CDRW Device supported by your software?
Our Mp3-to-CD-Burners tools support most of CDRW Devices today you
can download the software and try it free in your PC or just check
our supported Device List page.
Does
MP3 to CD Burner support Burn-Proof technologies?
Yes. It is highly recommended to use these types of drives for perfect
operation, especially at high write speeds (16x - 24x).
Why
does the write buffer fluctuate dramatically while using Burn-Proof?
Burn-Proof will use as much of the drive buffer as possible and
then wait for more data. This IS NOT A BUG. It works correctly.
Does
MP3 to CD Burner support Disc-At-Once?
Yes. MP3 to CD Burner works with disc-at-once mode.
Does
MP3 to CD Burner support CD-TEXT burning?
Yes. MP3 to CD Burner Version 2.0 can burn CD-TEXT CDs. However, creating
a CD Text disc requires a CD burner which supports this feature.
How
does it work?
Simply drag and drop the songs you want onto the main screen, hit
the record button, and in a short time you will have a custom CD!
With MP3 to CD Burner Pro, you can choose to burn 74 or 80-minute
audio CDs on either 74 or 80-minute CDR/RW discs. There is no need
to convert to WAV! Your CD is burned directly saving your hard drive
space.
Can
MP3 to CD Burner write Mixed-Mode CDs?
No. The control does not directly support mixed-mode writing. To
write mixed mode properly, the XA mode must be used. We do not currently
write in XA mode.
Can
MP3 to CD Burner write Video CDs?
No. There is no direct support for Video CDs at this time.
Does
MP3 to CD Burner burn more than 120 songs on a CD?
No. MP3 to CD Burner makes normal audio CDs, it uses MP3 files as
sound source, but only burns 74 minutes of music on a 74-minute
CDR or 80 minutes of music on an 80-minute CDR.
What
does this error mean: "Cannot send CUE sheet"?
The problem is that you have selected too many songs. Please reduce
some songs in your song list and try again.
My
CDRW disc will not play in our home or car stereo system - What's
up?
First and foremost is media compatibility. Not all players get along
with all brands of CD-R media. You need to find a combination of
recorder, media, and player that get along. You will need to find
a combination of recorder, media, and player that get along. Sometimes
the CD player will have no problem playing the tracks, but will
have a great deal of difficulty seeking between tracks or moving
fast-forward. Using a different brand of media or a different CD
player may produce better results. Some media work better at 1x,
2x, or 4x speeds. You may find that slowing down or speeding up
the recorder helps. We found "KODAK Gold ULTIMA" CD-R
disc to be very good for making CDs.
Does
MP3 to CD Burner use a lot of hard disk space?
No! MP3 to CD Burner is very small so please have no worries about
the hard disk space! Unlike other audio CD recording software, MP3
to CD Burner burns MP3 files directly into audio CDs. It does not
generate a temporary WAV file.
Why
did my CD-R eject between the "test" and "write"
passes?
The problem is that the recording speed is too high. You should
try lowering the recording speed to 1x.
I
have entered the registration code, but I can still record only
5 songs - Why?
Perhaps you have entered a wrong registration code. please re-launch
MP3 to CD Burner, and type the registration code again. When registered
correctly, the "buy now" and "register" buttons
will disappear from the program's main screen. If they do not, the
code has not been entered correctly. Please try again.
Sometimes
when I write a CD, I get an error cdPowerCalibrationAreaError(1048).
Why does this happen?
This is an interesting issue. we did determine that it is not the
fault of the software. As a matter of fact, running the same exact
burn image on CD Creator duplicated the error (See Below). The error
results from using high speed media (16x-24x) discs on a slow CDR
drive (4x-8x). Make sure that you inform your customers to use appropriate
rated media speeds for the the drive type. we have only experienced
this on one Plextor drive, so we are not sure exactly (neither is
CD Creator) how to handle the issue. The best insurance is to use
the right kind of media. Here is an error log from CD Creator duplicating
our error:
T0100:
I/O error (03/73/03) - CD error - power calibration area error
T0100: I/O error (03/73/03) - CD error - power calibration area
error
T7118: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed
This
can be very intermittent, we guess it depends on the quality of
the discs. It can also cause another error if you make it to the
end of the write by some miracle - cdNoSeekComplete(1053). This
will happen at the close, but the disc appears to actually have
been closed and it successfully reads in another drive.
What
is MP3 to CD Burner?
Why limit your MP3s to your computer?
MP3 to CD Burner enables you to create your own custom music CDs
that can be played in any standard home or car stereo.
MP3 to CD Burner is a hip software tool that helps you to create
normal audio CDs from your favorite MP3 files and Wav files. You
can then play them in your regular stereo or car CD player!
What
can I do with it?
Custom CDs! Make mixes to rock the x-mas party, make gifts for your
friends, road trip tunes, hot date tunes, You also can customize
the CD cover ! Replace your scratched CDs with CDs that you burn
yourself from MP3s.
What
is the system requirement?
You will need a Pentium 100 PC or higher, 16MB RAM or more. The
operating system should be Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000,
Windows NT 4.0, Windows ME or Windows XP. Of course, you must have
a CD Recorder. Please check out the supported devices page to see
if your CD Recorder is supported.
Supported
Drives
The CDR/W
drives listed below have been tested and verified for compatibility
with Mp3 to CD Burners Pro. This is only a partial list, according
to our research, currently over 800 drives should be supported (we
have not listed vendors we have not tested), and we are adding these
to our database as we can verify compatibility. If you would like
to contribute to this list or report an issue with a drive, please
click HERE! As always you can also feel free to contact us at sales@mp3-to-cd-burners.com.
Listed farther down the page, is a list of unsupported drives. We
may add support for these LEGACY drives in the future, but at this
time, we do not support them due to the overhead of old proprietary
command sets.
REMEMBER:
If a drive is not listed as supported, but is not in the unsupported
list, it is most likely a compatible drive. If you find a compatible
drive not listed, let us know so we can verify it and add it to
the list.
Mp3 to
CD Burners Pro will ignore (not detect) unsupported devices. If
a drive is detected by Mp3 to CD Burners Pro, and you are having
technical issues, check your system settings first. Improper system
configuration is the biggest support issue with CDR devices. The
software is very rarely the problem in such cases. See the FAQ section
on how to configure systems properly.
FYI -
If the list below does not contain specific models, but instead
says "All Current Models", we know:
A) The vendor is using OEM versions of other compatible drives.
B) We have tested all of the current models.

Unsupported
Drives
These
drives have proprietary command sets and are not currently supported
by Mp3 to CD Burners Pro. They also are typically very old and are
very limited in capabilities compared to today's newer drives. We
recommend replacing these drives, as they do not always work well
with the new Windows operating systems. Don't worry, the list is
short. Also keep in mind that these drives have not been in production
for some time, and many are duplicate OEM drives - e.g. Some legacy
Smart & Friendly drives (below) are OEM versions of the legacy
